Golden yearsCommunity is one of those words that we've overused so much that entire academic and always scintillating (ha) discussions have arisen to try to nail down exactly what the term means (and believe me, I know). While I could give you a long bibliography of recent tracts with writing so obscure it would choke one of those lovely flower bedecked critters drawing surreys full of tourists down the cobbled streets of the French Quarter. But I won't. Because Marko Turpeinen's project capably glosses over those discussions to create a meaningful service to an easily recognizable community. Silver Stringers -- on-line seniors in Melrose, Mass., (with an average age of 70) -- taps into the wisdom of the aging and provides them with the tools to publish their own electronic newspapers.
