The BLOOMSBURG (Pa.) PRESS ENTEPRISE has purchased DSI's Circulation Management System, Silver Spring, Md.-based DSI has announced. The 23k PRESS ENTERPRISE acquired the system to assist in its introduction of a Sunday edition at the beginning of October. Cox Newspapers' DAILY SENTINEL in Grand Junction, Colo., has added and upgraded its software from DT, of Orem, Utah. The 30k evening daily added DT's pagination and WAN databases, while also upgrading to version 4.1 its suite of DT products -- DT Editorial, Display Ad and Graphics systems. Overseas, the BIRMINGHAM (England) POST & MAIL has signed with DPS Typecraft, DT's licensee and systems integrator in the United Kingdom, to buy DT's editorial and advertising systems. The Macintosh-based, 320-seat installation (140 advertising, 180 editorial) will have workstations at 10 sites. The DT system will replace a 12-year-old classified system made by Systems Integrators Inc. The HUNTSVILLE (Ala.) TIMES has purchased Edgil's EdgCapture software for processing credit purchases of classified ads and subscriptions. Edgil, based in Chelmsford, Mass., said the TIMES would link EdgCapture to an existing SII classified system to process transactions in batch mode. Cincinnati-based GMTI has sold its Mobile Advertising Sales System (MASS) to the SACRAMENTO BEE, the first non-Gannett paper to do so. MASS, which is in use at 28 Gannett papers, is a Macintosh PowerBook-based package that enables ad reps in the field to perform tasks such as order entry and provides remote access to account information. Three U.S. newspaper companies have acquired Harris software and hardware, according to the supplier based in Melbourne, Fla.: -- The Alameda Newspaper Group of Pleasanton, Calif., publisher of five newspapers in the San Francisco Bay Area, has purchased Harris's NewsMaker editorial database software, 32 copy editor workstation packages and wire server software. -- The NEW YORK POST, already a Harris customer, has ordered five more NewsMaker reporter software packages. -- THE ENTERPRISE of Brockton, Mass., has acquired Harris's XP-21 replication software, JPEG compression software and hardware, two NewsMaker wire editor packages and one reporter software package.
