Seecolor's latest version produces press accurate color proofs at a high speed at 120-, 133- and 150-line screen, at a quality matching conventional film, yet a significantly lower cost.

    Seecolor has beta tested its latest software at Graphic Orb, a fully owned subsidiary of IPG, and is designed to provide color proofs with the familiar dots and color match of a conventional film proof, at a lower cost than laser halftone proofing system. The software accepts standard CCITT Group 4 RIFF or TIFF LZW files and can be part of a RIP Once Output Many (ROOM) workflow.

    This developer and marketer of desktop utilities for system migration and multi-platform network integration has announced a licensing agreement with Shira Computer Ltd. The agreement will allow Shira to integrate Miramar's PC MACLAN's AppleTalk Technology for Macintosh connectivity into Shira's RIPing and proofing systems -- Shira RIP, ShiraProofPro and Shira MediaSaver.

    With the addition of this technology, Shira users will be able to establish PCs as full peers on AppleTalk networks, allowing file and print sharing through a LAN, the Internet and remote access.

    This independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., has announced that it has acquired the assets of Graphic Integration Technology (GIT) and Graphic Integration Ltd. (GIL).

    The acquisition is part of Xitron's long-term strategy to continue to lead and grow the independent RIP and pre-press workflow market. Xitron will expand its product line to include color copier RIPs, interfaces to additional color printers and provide production color expertise. The addition of the GIT/GIL interfaces expands the range of output devices Xitron supports.
