    Eastman Kodak Co. of Rochester, N.Y., has entered into a strategic alliance that will integrate the Kodak Picture Ready application service into this Marina Del Rey, Calif.-based on-line classified-ad placement service, Advertise123.com.

    The combined services will give AdStar's Advertise123.com users the ability to create, schedule and pay for classified ads with pictures in dozens of newspapers representing the top markets in the United States.

    The Kodak Picture Ready service gives companies and consumers doing business over the Internet a way to post pictures of their products on-line for buyers to see, and provides image management and hosting services.

    The service lets customers add photos from computers, scanners, digital cameras, Kodak Picture CDs, Kodak Picture Disks or from Kodak PhotoNet, on-line to their products or service advertisements for publishing on-line or in print.

  • ARTESIA TECHNOLOGIES
    Time Warner Trade Publishing (TWTP) has selected this Rockville, Md.-based company's software to support a corporate-wide e-business initiative designed to expand the reach of its publishing holdings.

    TWTP will utilize Artesia's TEAMS digital asset management systems to create enterprise-wide web-accessible digital archives for the storage and reuse of both print and audio books and their individual components. The system will also manage other related assets such as original manuscripts, book jacket and cover artwork, author biographies, fact sheets and editorial reviews.

    This Seattle, Wash.-based joint venture of PrimeSource and Xeikon NV has announced that it has successfully installed a number of digital printing systems. Canopy was able to leverage the combined resources to record significant new business and promising growth.

    Kinko's installed three digital presses for its Corporate Printing and Finishing Centers (CPFC) in Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Jose. KP Corp. has identified opportunities for web-to-print, customized fulfillment applications in Milpitas, Calif. Additionally, Seneca Printing uses its Xeikon digital print capabilities in Franklin, Pa., for general commercial printing applications.

    This Norfolk, Va.-based service provider to media web sites has expanded its offsite data center. The move gives InfiNet one-third more server capacity and doubles its data storage capacity at the Exodus Communications facility in Sterling, Va.

    Throughput on InifNet servers has more than doubled during the past year, and because its core clients are newspaper web sites, the company must build significant excess capacity into its infrastructure to accommodate traffic surges resulting from breaking news stories.

    After moving its data center to Sterling in late 1999, InfiNet has continued to upgrade its infrastructure at the site throughout 2000 using an ongoing demand forecasting process to project needs.
