An affiliate agreement has been signed by two California-based companies, Landlord.com and AdStar.com. As part of the agreement, AdStar.com has created a co-branded version of the Advertise123.com classified-ad sales channel that is accessible through Landlord.com's web site. The site will offer Landlord.com's users a method to advertise their rental properties in newspapers across the country. Advertise123.com allows advertisers to create, schedule and pay for ads in more than 115 papers from the 75 markets in the country. The affiliate program provides this service to users through vertically focused classified web sites and B2B web sites, in addition to providing site owners the opportunity to offer Advertise123.com's turnkey e-commerce through their sites to generate additional revenues. AdStar.com has also announced that it signed an agreement to provide on-line classified-ad placement services for the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION (430k) as well as the DENVER POST (414k). The CHARLESTON POST & COURIER (118k) of South Carolina has become the first daily newspaper to physically link its print edition to additional on-line content through the use of technology offered by providers of print-to-digital linkage. The two newspapers are using GoCodes to link its print edition to its e-commerce site, ShopCharleston.net, which resulted in the World's first barcode-based e-commerce purchase from a daily paper. GoCode is the only barcode that fits within printed lines of text, connecting editorial, advertising and classifieds to additional on-line information. It also enables users to make instant e-commerce purchases directly out of a newspaper, magazine or catalog. The POST & COURIER has also announced that it is planning to expand its relationship with GoCode by adopting the technology in other publications within The Evening Post Publishing Co.'s newspaper holdings.
